How do ae artist jeans fit

I buy AE because I cannot afford to have a closet full of premium 7s. They fit very close to each other, IMO. Even their pocket design and placement is spot on. I like the 7 Roxanne fit the best but those are skinnies. The 7 Bootcuts in their New York wash are awesome too. I find AE jeans to run proportionately large through the waist and small through the hips and thighs. As far as premium denim, I find Hudson to be analogous.

I sympathize with the post-baby body blues. I'd also recommend Not Your Daughter's Jeans. They have a higher rise, which may or may not be your cup of tea, but they're comfortable and make the belly behave i. Not premium denim, but have you tried Express jeans? In particular the Zelda fit--ignore the "ultralow" rise indication, if you're comfortable in AE jeans the rise isn't any lower. My natural figure is very straight squishy waist, narrow hipbones, curvy rear and thighs and I find that the higher the rise, the more muffin top I get, paradoxically.

I also really like AG's low rise skinnies but haven't had as much luck with their slightly higher mid-rise bootcuts. Thank you all for the suggestions. This was very useful. My post-partum body is larger but with entirely different proportions. The Rack was full of sweaters and jackets but had very low inventory of denim.
